On June 5, 2026, the traditional workshop “High-Performance Computing for Mathematics and its Applications” was held for the fourth consecutive year in Room 578 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (IMI-BAS) – the main organizer of the event and partner in the National Centre for High-Performance and Distributed Computing (NCHDC) project. The workshop focused on the use of high-performance computing (HPC) for solving large-scale problems in mathematics.
Participants from IMI-BAS and the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT-BAS) delivered eight presentations, showcasing advanced algorithms, innovative computational techniques, and new results obtained within the framework of the project.
In recent years, the number of researchers in theoretical and applied mathematics utilizing supercomputing resources has increased significantly. The workshop was therefore aimed at scientists, researchers, students, and professionals interested in the prospects of HPC in mathematics and its related fields.
The organizers plan to continue holding future editions of the event, providing opportunities for scientists and specialists to collaborate, exchange ideas, and contribute to the growth of the HPC community in Bulgaria.
