On October 3rd, a working meeting was held at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT) with Alex Jan Polak, an account manager at NVIDIA (AI & HPC Technology), representatives from Asbis EOOD (NVIDIA’s distributor for Bulgaria) and Specialized Business Systems OOD, representatives of the Defense Institute part of the Ministry of Defense, and experts in high-performance technologies from IICT, including leaders of major national and international projects.
The meeting provided a brief overview of the latest developments at NVIDIA and a more detailed look at two programs: the Developer Program and the DLI Ambassador University Program. These programs can help organizations plan for long-term growth with artificial intelligence and accelerated computing, as well as identify areas for improvement that align with business goals.
Prof. Emanouil Atanassov from IICT presented information about GPU-based supercomputing resources at IICT, scientific directions, and major projects related to high-performance computing led by the institute. Special attention was given to the EuroCC2 project, as well as two major national projects: the “Center for Excellence in Informatics and ICT,” funded under the Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” (Phase One) and the “National Center for High-Performance and Distributed Computing,” funded by the Ministry of Education and Science through the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures.
Following the presentations, a discussion took place regarding opportunities for more meaningful collaboration and next steps. Assistance was offered in organizing hackathons, training courses, and lectures.
